How Others
Have Seen Us

What does Mira Mesa mean to you?  What do you want others to think of when they hear the name "Mira Mesa".

It's time that we, the community of Mira Mesa, stand up and tell the world who we REALLY are. Time to put aside stereotypes and misperceptions built long ago. Time to make OUR community the place that WE want it to be - to take pride in our community, and become involved in shaping its future.
Redistricting and Mira Mesa:
New Districts and New Representation

The Redistricting Commission for the City of San Diego has wrapped up
its work, creating the boundaries for nine City Council districts to replace
the current eight.  And while much focus has been on the city process,
all levels of government up to and including the U. S. House of
Representatives have gone through a similar process.

Redistricting is triggered by the Decennial Census conducted for the United States government. The goal is to create a set number of districts at each governmental level that are of approximately the same population.

Two recent presentations on the effect of these multiple redistricting processes on Mira Mesa's representation are available for your review.  Mira Mesa will see a near total replacement of government representation by the end of 2012.
